Hired in 2005 by The County Centre For Conservation and Promotion of Traditional Culture Ialomita to serve as vocal soloist in the „Doina Bărăganului“ orchestra.

Adrian Măcianu was born May 19th 1962 in the village of Mărculesti, Cosâmbeşti, Ialomiţa county. From childhood he has loved folk music, an ever-present part of village life.

Together with local fiddlers he performed at weddings and various gatherings and doing this he discovered folk song in its most authentic form, performed by village elders. Today, Adrian Măcianu has a uniquely sensitive approach to southern songs.
